A very effective option in student camps is to combine experiential learning with 5-7 day adventure introduction programmes and utilize their introductory experiences in various adventure sports as activities that are reviewed. This not only gives the benefit of a longer duration of a programme and helps the learnings become more concrete, but also enhances their adventure experiences and training. Such a course will include historical and geographical local information as applicable, analysis of personal and interpersonal relationships and interactions, self-sufficiency and independence in personal management, etc. at appropriate times and opportunities.
This course is physically very similar to regular outbound adventure camps, but adds the psychological impact of experiential learning and reviewing.
Watch out for the fellow who talks about putting things in order! Putting things in order always means getting other people under your control.
