Ki Monastery is a thousand-year-old Buddhist gompa located in the remote region of Spiti in the Indian Himalayas. The formal introduction line done, Ki looks like a pile of boxes stacked haphazardly, threatening to topple over the picturesque village by the same name at its feet. It is one of the five major monasteries of the Spiti valley along with Thangyud Gompa, Dhankar Gompa, Khungri Gompa and Tabo Gompa. Ki Monastery follows the Gelugpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism.
Rohtang Pass (3978 m) is a high mountain pass across the Pir Panjal range of the Himalaya that connects the Kullu Valley with the Lahul and Spiti valleys of Himachal Pradesh , India . It is situated at a distance of 51 km from the town of Manali.

Peth fort or Kotligad (1550 ft) was a watch post for soldiers guarding the Bhor Ghat, an important trade route between Pune and Kalyan.
Date :30th July 2006This one day hike to Karnala is best enjoyed during the monsoons, when wisps of mist flirt with the way to the top of the fort as it towers protectively above the dense forest at its base. Maharashtra Government declared this 4.5 Sq.Km. region as the bird sanctuary in 1968-69. The sanctuary, while small (4.8 sq. km) is a delight for bird watchers all through the year, and is home to some 150 resident species and over 35 species of migratory birds.
A classic hiking destination in the Malshej ghat region. Easy hike and pleasant stay. Open for all age groups, but please be prepared to walk, and carry your own load, plus a share from the common rations on the way (will not be anything very heavy)
If you're looking for a fun location to head off too, which is possible for most members of your group, look no further. Naneghat is where you want to go. Naneghat also holds historical significance as one of the important trade routes connecting the Deccan Plateau with the Konkan. This is an easy hike and has much to offer for a variety of interests.
Wide Aware has announced its first monsoon hike to Kondana Caves on the 18th of June 2006. All travel is by Sumo, food will be provided, a nature expert will be present to help expand our knowledge of the world we will wander in, and plans are in the offing for a rain dance in the afternoon, in case the rain we want does not happen!
